Reasons And Methods For Drying Wood
Why lumber can produce stem shrink, crack, bend be out of shape, mildew to wait for a phenomenon, it is to contain a lot of moisture as a result of lumber, go into the water branch in specific environment evaporates continuously, the quality that the nature of moisture evaporates can endanger lumber product seriously, appear a variety of problems.
Therefore, wood needs to be forcibly dryer treated before it is made into various wood products. The correct dry treatment can solve the defects of wood, improve the structural mechanical compressive strength of wood, and improve the properties of wood. It is an important technological process that can not be lost in the production of wood products.
Wood drying methods are divided into two categories, namely "natural drying" and "artificial drying".
First, natural drying, also known as natural drying, refers to the log in accordance with the requirements of cutting into standard specifications and size of the plate, and then stacked in the open and ventilated site, the use of atmospheric heat energy evaporation of moisture in the wood and drying.
The advantages of natural drying are: simple technology, convenient operation, low drying cost, can keep the primary color of wood basically unchanged. Disadvantage is: cover an area of an area is big, dry condition cannot be controlled, dry time also is opposite too long, because it is to undertake drying in natural environment, cannot control the moisture content in lumber so, bring about lumber to dry uneven.
Second,Artificial drying refers to the use of professional wood drying equipment for wood drying treatment. Drying conditions can be artificially controlled. At present, artificial drying accounts for 90% of wood drying production at home and abroad.
Artificial drying advantages: it can ensure the wood drying quality of any material specifications, can dry the moisture content of wood to any required standard, drying cycle is short, flexible equipment operation. Disadvantages: the drying equipment is more complex, large investment, drying cost is relatively high.
